May 28th: My new computer and I are having major bonding issues! The laptop itself is better than sweet! It's just that when all my files got loaded back on, they are in a complete and utter mess. There are duplicates, stuff missing, old photos and stuff from years ago popping up in all my working folders and I can't find half my stuff. I was trying to find a word document for one of my kits I needed and I couldn't find it anywhere. Never did but when I was using the search button, I realized that somewhere buried in my 40 files and sub folders that I use all the time, there are 4 duplicate copies of everything!!!! What a mess. now I have to go and clean it all out! I'm not used to Vista and I have to use a new email software that I'm still figuring out. I just feel misplaced.

The kiddies are out of school and we just went and got our pool passes for the summer but it is so cold and wet outside. The thought of soaking up the sun on a nice hot pool day brings a huge smile to my face! I can't wait!

I have a few new bracelet designs that I'm jumping up and down over! They are very simple but so striking and comfortable to wear that you all will want one! I'm still buried in orders though so I don't have the time to play with the design like I want. My biggest problem is slowing down enough to take all the photos and then do the html to get the stuff posted for sale. SOON!

I think Kerry and I are just about reading to send each other our beads and books with our Parallel Crossings exchange. Those will go out in the next day or two.

May 20th: Sorry again for the disappearing act. I've been all out of sorts without my laptop. But lucky me... I have a brand spanking new one! Got it last night. I had bought the 3 year service plan at Best Buy with my old laptop. After the 3rd repair if the computer goes bad, they will do the no lemon policy and give you a new one in the same purchase price range. I had mine for a tad over 2 years and it went bad again for the 4th time so after they verified that it was a hardware problem, I got a new $1,200 computer for free!! I like the one we picked out. It's really sweet. It even has a web cam. Not that I could figure out how to use it!

So hubby has spent 2 nights getting everything loaded and ready to go. There is still some things to do but I think after a few more days, I will be well nested in with my new friend.

There have been a lot of kid activities with school letting out on Thursday and my work schedule hasn't been where it needs to be. I'm feeling a tad overwhelmed at the moment. I just need about 1 straight week with some good work days to get a better handle. But the kids are out of school on Thursday! Yikes...So just a heads up, any new orders placed for custom beads or jewelry probably won't be started on for 3 weeks. I do have a few beads to add to the boutique, a modge podge set of orphan beads, and a few trinkets of jewelry to add to the boutique page. But.. not sure how quickly they will get posted since I'm trying to stay on the work path and not get distracted. Which is hard because there are so many bead things I want to play with!

May 15th: Another rainy day! I'm ready for some sunshine and warm weather! But, I do have something fun to share. I think we are about ready to go. I've hinted a few times that Kerry Bogert at Kabs Concepts and I have been working on something fun. We finally have the basic layout/concept finished and it is ready to go.

Kerry approached me a few weeks ago with the coolest idea. A little somethin somthin for inspiration and a way to think outside the box and boost creativity. We started (or should I say Kerry did because I'm clueless on this stuff) a new blog called Parallel Crossings.

Each month based on a predetermined theme, we are going to swap a small bead set to exchange with each other. Then we will use the swapped beads in a creative manner. But, we aren't limiting ourselves to just jewelry. We might throw a piece of fabric, or yarn or whatever looks like fun in the trinket box for the other to use in her creation. Doesn't that sound like fun? It will be a great way to spark creativity.

Parallel Crossings was chosen because it really reflects Kerry and I. Although we have very distinct styles, I find that we often ride each others brain waves. Both of us will be working on similiar projects and not even realize until after the fact that we are both doing the same thing. It's really strange and fun at the same time. We also each have 3 kids close in the same age range and both have been married 10 years. So the "parallel" word shows how we create parallel to each other and the "crossings" word represents how we are going to cross over and create with each others beads!

So head over to the blog Parallel Crossings to read our introductions and find out about our first theme for the month of June. It's going to cover Children's books. I'm so excited. I have the perfect book and have already started making the beads. The creativity sparks have already been flying because I really like the beads I've made and have thought of all sorts of jewelry I could make with them. So... after the exchange I'm going to have make replicas and have a go with the beads. I have a few ideas in my head and I can't wait to try them out.

May 13th: So sorry for the diappearing act. I spent all night Thursday and all day Friday getting ready for a garage sale on Saturday. Whew... the weather cooperated and we got rid of loads of stuff. I was embarressed by how much stuff we had! Mostly kids stuff that had accumulated over the years. I still had Rubbermaid tubs of the big boys clothes that I had saved "just in case" we had another child. Which we did and it happened to be another boy... but when I look in the buckets, there is a time span of 5 years and those clothes just don't look appealing anymore. Plus, Caiden has sensory issues and it is a ROYAL PAIN getting him dressed. Especially with seasonal changes and clothes that he isn't used to wearing. Making the transition from long sleeves to short sleeves and shorts is so painful for him. All the cute little boy clothes that I would love to dress him in like I did the other boys, I can't. No sweaters on this kid for the life of him. But.... he is 1,000 times better than he used to be. So I don't complain loudly.

I've gotten off track.... then my darn computer died on Saturday. So it is back in the shop and that is the bigger reason why you haven't seen me. This is so painful being without my files. I have stuff backed up on files all over the place as my hubby whines that I had too much stuff on my computer and he couldn't back it up all in one location. We spent 1 hour just trying to find the document for a bracelet kit that I needed to print out last night. Then I just spent 20 min updating all the html on this computer so that I have my website data all up to date and available. What a pain. And to add insult to injury, I'm fighting with the kids on their computer in the play room which is on a tiny desk with a very short chair and I'm all hunched over! So don't expect long notes from me until I'm up and running again on my computer! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that is soon!

Just a head's up. The Step By Step Wire Summer Preview issue should finally be out on the stands now. You can find it at any major book store or craft store like Michaels.

May 8th: Man my mind is just spinning with ideas. There are soooooooo many things that I want to play with and try. I should probably write them down because some ideas are just glimmers and then I move onto another thought and then I remember what I was thinking before and then I'm over here and then I'm over there! But... I have so many orders right now that I just don't have the time to play and let these ideas evolve. I think my best creativity comes when I'm busy. My mind starts wandering when I'm just making the same beads over and over again. It's great because I don't have to sit and force myself to think. The ideas just start to flow.

I have all these really fun beads that I've been making lately (before the orders started piling in. Thank you everyone by the way!). I need to slow down and get the bead sets posted in the gallery for reorders. They are just too cool and I know you guys would love them. I'm hoping next week one night I can sit down and get at least a few ordering options available.

Having said all that... I do have a few simple ideas that will be easy to do here and there. I have something brewing in the pot with Kerry Bogert. We are still working on getting it set up. Our goal is to start in June. We created (or should I say computer savy Kerry created) a blog page to host our monthly project. This alone has already gotten the sparks a flying in my mind of fun beads to make. Just wait... I'll give more in depth details in the next few days. My mind is fried right now and I'm ready to shut down for the night.

I'll leave you with this fun photo that I just drew a few minutes ago. I wish I could draw! That is one thing I never learned how to do! But... I go to an international group called MOPS (mothers of preschoolers). Anyone ever heard of it? It's an awesome program. We meet twice a month. The mentors have something up their sleeves and are asking everyone to email them our baby pictures. I know for a fact that I don't have one baby photo of me in the house. I would have to dig through my parents closets and then get it scanned and so on. Way too complicated. Drawing a picture seemed much easier!

May 7th: I don't think the Summer Preview Issue of the Step By Step Wire has hit the stands yet. The email said it would be released on May 13th if I remember correctly. All subscription holders started getting their's over a week ago though. Sounds like a big lag time but I wanted to give everyone an update. I haven't been to the book store to check this week if they are available here.

Another rainy day. That saying about April showers brings May flowers is running late. We are still getting all the showers with the flowers. We are having a garage sale on Saturday. I think it is supposed to rain. Bummer! I just want to get rid of all this stuff that has piled up.

I made this bracelet a month or so ago. I keep starting to list it on the boutique but then I stop myself. It is so light and comfortable on the wrist.

Silver shanks are in the boutique. I ran out of the ones I already had made, so there will be a few day turn around time for me to make more.

May 5: So much to do and sooooo little time. I just wanted to pop in real fast and answer a question that I've gotten often. I know someone emailed me asking and I think I forgot to answer and my inbox is so overloaded right now to try and sift through the emails that I thought I would share the info with everyone.

The question is "Where do I buy those way too cute word toggles and beads?" I had purchased some to sell on my supply page but then I fell in love with them and have been hoarding them! So here is the scoop. They come from Nina Designs. www.ninadesigns.com. You will love her site. Loads of stuff!

I will soon get the shopping cart ready to purchase the silver shanks that I make for the back of lampwork cabs/buttons. They will be sold in packs of 4 for $22. I'll get them posted in the boutique and the silver part of my supply pages.

Hmmm... what else... too much to going on. And... I think that some emails have not been reaching me. So please... if you don't hear from me within 24 hours of sending me an e-mail. PRETTY PLEASE resend it. I promise I'm not ignoring you. I just didn't get your note.

I'll pop in soon with more activities going on. Monday's are crazy and I had to spend the morning at the darn dentist, go to Target (my highlight of the week and darn it... I forgot to put my necklace on!HA!), entertaining Caiden and now I only have about an hour before the big boys are out of school and then it is off to swim lessons and a cub scouts meeting. No wonder I feel like I'm getting nothing done!

May 3rd: I just completed the necklace with the leather cord. It's such a fun design. It's just too cute not to make more of them. I promise!

May 2: Wow, the kids only have 3 weeks of school left! Time is flying now. I went on a field trip with my 8 yr old's class to the zoo. It was raining cats and dogs this morning and I was convinced we were going to be miserable wet. But by the time we got to the zoo, we didn't have one rain drop. It was a really fun day.

Now I really need to honker down and get busy working. The orders are really coming in fast and I'm trying my best to keep on top of things but these last few days I've fallen behind. I'm going to try to be productive this weekend. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can.

Here are some beads that I've turned into a necklace. But I think I'm going to maybe keep the necklace for me! I love it. It is incorporated with brown leather cord which helps to take a lot of beads and not make it so fancy. More of a blue jeans and t-shirt creation which is what I really need since my highlight of the week is going to Target! I don't get dolled up very often anymore! One of the downfalls of working from home but who is complaining when I can wear pj pants and crocs all day if I want. I don't think it gets much better than that. Although, I have to walk my youngest into preschool 4 mornings a week so I would look funny in pj's so I at least have to put pants or shorts on!

I'm going to be starting a fun little journey with my friend Kerry Bogert. We will give you the details soon. Just something fun and simple to do for inspiration!
